Addilyn is a graduate of Monroe City R-I High School in Monroe City, Missouri. She is currently a student at Central Methodist University in Fayette working on a major in Elementary Education.
Addilyn desires to become a teacher who is relatable, trustworthy, hardworking, helpful, reliable and caring. She believes that the best place to achieve this is in a rural setting. She plans to be the caring teacher in a supportive school community that encourages her students to dive into their education without hesitation.
A college professor shares that "Addilyn is a responsible and reliable young woman. She strives for excellence in all areas of her life. She demonstrates great leadership potential and sets high expectations for herself and will in turn set high expectations for her students. We need young educators and leaders like Addilyn to be a part of the re-vitalization of rural America." Another one notes, "I feel that Addilyn demonstrates the characteristics of MARE scholarship recipients and has a strong future in education in a rural setting."
