Endorsement Criteria

The Missouri Association of Rural Education (MARE) is committed to the idea that it is a SERVICE ORGANIZATION, dedicated to the policy of providing services to its member school districts.

Specific Membership Requirements:

• Annual Associate Membership
• For-Profit Members -- $400
• Not-for-Profit Members -- $300
• Participation in the Annual Conference Activities

Membership Level Expectations:

• MARE APPROVED ASSOCIATE/VENDOR:
  • Annual MARE Associate Membership
  • Reference Check Acceptable standing with the Better Business Bureau (BBB)
  • Participation in the Annual MARE Conference Activities.
• MARE RECOMMENDED SCHOOL SERVICES:
  • Annual MARE Associate Membership
  • Reference Check Acceptable standing with BBB
  • Participation in the Annual MARE Conference Activities
  • Recommendation from School Personnel
  • Promotional Fee Agreement (cost negotiable per firm).
• MARE FACILITATED SCHOOL SERVICES:
  • Annual MARE Associate Membership
  • Reference Check Acceptable standing with BBB
  • Participation in the annual MARE Conference Activities
  • Recommendation from School Personnel
  • Promotional Fee Agreement (cost negotiable per firm)
  • Agreement with MARE to facilitate work in school systems.

Specific Information Requested for Recommended School Services or Facilitated School Services:

1.  How will this company/organizations product or service help rural schools in Missouri?
2. Please provide a historical background of this company/organization including its fiscal health?
3. A historical product delivery and customer satisfaction?  Any fillings of complaints with the Better Business Bureau, etc.?  Suggest listing of three references with contact information.
4. Is this product/service affiliation trouble-free and will the MARE organization be enhanced by association with this company/organization?
5. Is this company/organization not only willing to participate in the annual MARE conference, but will consider other sources of support such as advertising in the newsletter, support of the

MARE Scholarship Golf Tournament, host certain levels of associations’ activities, etc.?  (Not all items must be considered to receive a designation.)

6. Listing of your company/organizations present endorsement/partnership relationships with other state educational organizations/associations?  (May be within Missouri or other states.)
7. The company/organizations willingness to stand annually for review of the school services provided to MARE member districts?  (Provide the MARE Executive Board annual updates in conjunction with the October Executive Board Meeting.)
8. Identification of ways the company/organization will support MARE through financial contributions or savings to MARE member school districts, on an annual basis? (This will apply only to MARE Recommended School Services and MARE Facilitated School Services.)
   1. Platinum Support Level -- $10,000+
   2. Gold Support Level -- $5,000+
   3. Silver Support Level -- $2,500+
   4. Bronze Support Level -- $1,000+
   5. Basic Support Level -- $500+
9. At a minimum, the above support levels will provide the associate member the following benefits:
   1. FREE Booth at the Annual Conference.
   2. FREE business card ad in the quarterly newsletter.
   3. Opportunity to select, in advance, designated booth space at the annual conference.
   4. Directory of current school district memberships.
   5. Identified as such on the MARE website and MARE Focus.
   6. Permission to use the MARE Logo on any printed brochures promoting the Executive Board approved services they provide to MARE member school district.
   7. Other?

The MARE Executive Board shall conduct an annual review of all approved MARE Associate Members and determine whether the previously approved membership of the company/organization will continue.

The MARE Executive Board will reserve the right to meet in special session to consider the termination of any company/organization Recommended School Services or Facilitated School Services.
