Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe eMINTS National Center is an outreach unit for the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Missouri focused on serving the K-20 community by providing research-based professional development, best practices for classroom coaching, and grant writing support to school teachers, trainers and administrators. eMINTS professional services are guided by the eMINTS Instructional Model which features High-Quality Instruction enhanced by the usage of Authentic Learning, a Community of Learners, and Innovative Technologies to increase student performance and educator effectiveness.
For over 20 years, eMINTS has been committed to improving teacher practices that lead to positive outcomes for students that specialize in using STEM-based activities, computational thinking, and prosocial approaches in the classroom. The center provides a two-year Affiliate Trainer certification program that allows school districts to equip their teaching staff with effective instructional support personnel that have access to materials and methods that have been developed and used with participating educators since our inception. The eMINTS Instructional Model is implemented each day by over 3000 classroom teachers that are certified through our training efforts.
After recently receiving over 30 million dollars in federal grant funding, the center is implementing several projects with rural educators in Missouri and Kansas. These efforts include our PAL (Prosocial Learning), SEED (STEM Education), EDGE (Computational Thinking) and Talk2Read (Primary Literacy) programs that include providing technology, professional development, classroom coaching/mentoring, and data collection to participating schools.
