Steve Heideman has spent the last five years serving the students, parents, patrons and staff as a School Board Member working to improve and support the Lonedell R-14 School District. During his tenure on the board, Mr. Heideman has been recognized for his outstanding leadership abilities by his peers, by being elected to serve as the board president.
The words “a true advocate for kids and education as a whole,” best describes the dedication that Mr. Heideman has provided, by putting the children of the school first in the decisions he supports as a board member. During Steve’s tenure on the board, he has played a significant role in improvements made to the Lonedell school facilities. Mr. Heideman is always in attendance at the “work days” the school holds. This is evident thru his efforts to gain support in the community for a new gym and his volunteering on numerous school renovation projects such as the installation of playground equipment. During weather events, you will find Steve present using his own equipment to plow snow for the school.
Described as a man of principle, Steve believes that one of the important values in the education of young people is his ongoing continued support for professional development for teachers and staff. Mr. Heideman has the “can do” attitude to do whatever it takes to complete tasks that will improve the Lonedell R-14 School District.
Growing up in Lonedell and having graduated from Lonedell R-14 in 1975, Steve has always had the betterment of the school and community in his heart. He expects and believes in the Lonedell district and has high expectations for all.
Steve Heideman has always represented the community of Lonedell, as a Board of Education member with integrity. Being very family oriented and caring passionately for the students of the school and his main goal of improvement of education for those students makes him deserving of the honor as the Missouri Outstanding Rural Board Member for 2013.
