Eminence R-I School District Superintendent Vacancy for 2025-2026

The Missouri Association of Rural Education has been retained by the Eminence R-I School District to assist with their search for a Superintendent of the School District located at 17829 6th Street, Eminence, Missouri, 65466. The selected candidate will assume leadership responsibilities on July 1, 2025.  Eminence R-I School District is a PK-12 district serving 253 students with a total staff of approximately 66.  For more information on this opportunity, please access the links below the Community Profile paragrahs:

Eminence R-I is a small rural district (less than 250 students) that has an APR of  84.8% for 2023-24. Small class sizes are the norm and while we offer all of the expected courses for college prep students via dual credit and online options, there is a purposeful focus on vocational courses linked to industries/jobs that are available in our local and regional community.

An expansion of Project Lead the Way courses has been a focused growth area for our students. Another point of emphasis at Eminence R-I is the continuation and promotion of local Ozark heritage in a meaningful way through our string instrument band program, trap team, and the ever expanding Vo-Ag Department among other cultural programs we offer. We are dedicated to truly serving our Shannon County students and families!

District Fund balances are at 56% with an operating levy of $3.37. Over 70% of certified staff have a graduate degree and 100% of certified employees at Eminence R-I during 2023-24 returned for the 2024-25 school year: That is simply unheard of in the current teacher shortage era. This is a small District on an upward trajectory in all aspects of the school experience!

Eminence is a small town (population 600) in Shannon County located in south central Missouri. We are the county seat and the area is rich in history and culture. Located in the midst of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways the Jacks Fork River runs through the edge of town; and the Current River is also within a 15-20 minute drive. Our main industry is tourism causing the population to swell by sometimes 3 times on weekends during the spring, summer, and fall months. Outdoor activities such as floating, fishing, swimming, hiking, biking, horseback riding, and hunting are some of the many benefits of living in this area. Eminence is famous statewide and across the country for sightings of local wild horse herds and has long been known for canoeing and Cross Country Trail Ride (a local horse campground). The town of Eminence is very quaint and laid back offering a very relaxed lifestyle. The court house and many older buildings up and down Main Street give Eminence a kind of movie quality small town feel. Our motto here is "Stay a day or a lifetime".
