Kendey is a graduate of Mound City High School in Mound City, Missouri. She is currently a student at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville working on a major in Business Education.
Kendey gives credit to her parents (Ken & Shelley Eaton) and her business teacher, Mrs. Hux, for instilling in her a strong passion to work in a rural school setting. She plans to follow their examples and be there for her students, encourage them in all of their various endeavors and to let them know how special they are. She also wants her own children to enjoy similar rich experiences like she did while growing up in a supportive and tight-knit community.
A college professor shares that "Kendey's positive attitude, academic ability and strong work ethic enhance her bright future as a business education teacher." Another professor adds, "Kendey's strong desire to return to a rural community as an educator and her ability to connect with students outside of the classroom, coupled with her hard work and dedication will allow Kendey to represent Northwest Missouri well in her teaching career."
