Launch the media gallery 1 playerEthan Shackelford of Centerview, Missouri graduated from Crest Ridge High School - Centerview. He is currently attending the University of Central Missouri – Warrensburg majoring in Social Studies Education.
Graduating from a rural school district was a major influence on my decision to proactively find employment in a rural community. My experiences coaching basketball for five seasons and substitute teaching for three years in an area school district have helped me develop my teaching skills and become more comfortable in the classroom. I want to enhance my content with teaching students how to be responsible citizens and play active roles in their communities.
A college instructor shares that as a student, Ethan is very conscientious and thoughtful. He has an incredible ability to recognize strengths in people and use them to the degree which make them feel better about themselves. He has demonstrated a clear understanding of the design of student behavior and what to do with unruly students to achieve positive results. Ethan engages his students in active learning, making his class an enjoyable place to learn.
Knowing the benefits of being in a rural school as a student and having the skills to use that knowledge to aide his future students, makes it appropriate to congratulate Ethan Shackelford as the 2015 Guin Mundorf Scholarship recipient.
