Alan is a graduate of South Holt High School in Oregon, Missouri. He is currently a student at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville working on a major in Middle School Science Education.
Alan shares, "I grew up in a rural community and have nothing but positive thoughts about my time in high school and the community in which I was raised. I love the family atmosphere at small schools. I believe my experiences in a small community will help me to relate to my students, the staff and community members in the best way thus creating a better learning environment. I cannot imagine teaching in any other place."
A college professor shares that "Alan is a remarkable, creative and talented individual, with a passion for doing great work. He is passionate about positive and relevant outcomes for youth in the field of education as he seeks to improve their circumstances. Beyond his passion on driving performance, he is respectful, has a great disposition for teaching and is a natural leader. He will be an effective professional educator."
