Jessica Slagle - 2018 Forrest T. Jones Scholarship Recipient
Launch the media gallery 1 playerJessica Slagle is a graduate of Mexico High School in Mexico, Missouri. She is currently a student at Columbia College, in Columbia, Missouri working on a major in General Studies with Elementary Teacher Certification.
Jessica shares that she plans to make a difference as a rural teacher using fun-filled and unique strategies and methods to reach her students. She intends to support her students both inside and outside of her classroom to make sure that they achieve success.
One of her college professors shares that Jessica shows a heart for rural areas and an understanding of the needs of rural learners. She contends that Jessica will hold high standards, teach in a caring manner and meet the challenges of our 21st century classrooms.
