Elizabeth Anne Redd
2015 Forrest T. Jones & Company Scholarship Recipient
Elizabeth Anne Redd of Harrisburg, Missouri is a graduate of Dallas Co. R-I High School – Buffalo, MO. She is currently attending Central Methodist University – Fayette, majoring in Elementary Education.
“I have aspired to be a teacher since I was in primary school and realized that teachers make a difference in a child’s life.” My third grade teacher showed me compassion and understanding when my family was dealing with a family medical issue. Elizabeth shares that she loves the atmosphere in a smaller town where everyone feels like your neighbor and the community supports the school, teachers, and the students.
One of her college instructors shares that she possessed a great deal of confidence when working with students. She has been a leader in her classes. Many of the other college students often seek her out as she brings maturity to the classroom setting others so desire. Serving as a classroom aide in one of the area school districts Special Education program, Elizabeth is described as one that was quick to notice things that needed to be done and took the initiative to address the problem. She was always eager to see the students learn, grow and achieve on their individual levels.
Described as one that is professional, progressive, and perceptive in educational methods, makes it appropriate to congratulate Elizabeth Redd as the 2015 Forrest T. Jones & Company Scholarship recipient.
