Angie McFee is a woman of many skills, talents, and hats.  For the past four years, Mrs. McFee has been the glue that holds the Winston school district together.  Mr. McFee works as the District Accountant, District Administrative Assistant and High School Administrative Assistant.  Angie is a lifelong resident of the Winston community.  Angie’s dedication to the district comes naturally as she attended and graduated from the Winston school district.  She knows all of the students and families making her presence a huge asset as she can talk to them pretty much as a family member.

Angie demonstrates a level of professionalism with a creative flair.  She is a resourceful, creative and solution-oriented person.  She knows how to give direction, and how to help others complete any task at hand.  Angie is tireless in her pursuit of a job not just well-done, but perfectly performed, which speaks of her commitment not just to the organization, but to each and every one of the staff, parents and students served.  One of her nominators sums up the approach Angie has toward her position with a quote from John William Gardner.  “Excellence is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well.”

Mrs. McFee shows a great deal of flexibility and adaptability, working with staff and students, dealing with a wide range of skill levels, motivation levels and personalities.  She is like a second mom to the students, at times issuing band-aids, medicine, making phone calls and even drying tears.  She is a confidant and trusted friend.  When handling confidential information, Angie goes beyond what is the norm to best protect the student, staff and community.

Angie McFee loves people, works hard and is always wanting to make a good situation even better by looking for ways to improve through reflection and collaboration.  These characteristics represent all that is good in the Winston school district, making it fitting for her selection as Missouri’s Outstanding Rural Support Staff member for the 2015-2016 school year.
